The Richard Turner Lecture
Richard Turner warming up the 4F crowd.
A word to the wise from gambler Richard Turner.
If you sit down to a friendly game of chance and the dealer starts to shuffle like this.
Just remember - There is no such thing as a friendly game of chance!
On the left Richard performs for Trixy Bond, a clever spell to it card location.
While on the right Richard demonstrates some of his excellent poker deals to Suzanne.
Next Richard demonstrates a few Stud Poker deals finishing with
The spectator shuffles the deck each time a card is dealt
And still Richard was able to pull a Royla Flush.
On the left Jean-Luc Dupont, and on the right Mark DeSouza select poker hands
In the end (surprise - surprise) Richard draws the winning hand.
I have been doing Gambling Demonstrations for over 25 years
Yet watching Richard was humbling. A fantastic show and one which I would see again.
After a short break, its time for the explanations.
But first let me get comfortable - off with the jacket and hat.
Richard first taught the strip out (Dove Tail) and Faro shuffles.
Even though I have used both for many years, I still learned a few new applications.
Next Richard taught seconds, bottoms and a great Monte routine.
Richard also taught a very clever turn over second deal. I will work on this one!
Richards show ended with a well deserved standing ovation from the FFFF crowd.
Incidentally if you are not aware, Richard has what some would call a handicap.
He is legally blind and still one of the most entertaining gamblers I have ever seen!
Thank you Richard Turner and again a great job.
If you have not been to a FFFF convention before well now is when the real fun begins.
They will be going on until the next days events start.
